AGM minutes 2024 AGM Agenda 2025 Copy of Accounts 2025

The 2025 AGM will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 12th November 2025. Some of the committee will be meeting in person at the school but EVERYONE ELSE is welcome and encouraged to join the meet via a Teams link. It would be great to see as many Old Alts at the AGM as possible. If you’d like to join us, please email cj@thegingerbrandman.co.uk and we’ll send you the meeting link.

I am delighted to now be able to confirm the menu details for this year’s Old Altrinchamian’s Annual Dinner.

I know many have locked the date in their diaries but in case you missedprevious announcements, it’s taking place on Friday 26^th September 2025.

And it’s back at the school!

Last year’s dinner was a massive success so we are following a very similar format this year.

School tours will be available pre-dinner at 6pm for those wishing to retrace their steps and re-live their best and/or perhaps most notorious school moments. No South bogs I’m afraid, but plenty of history as well as some amazing new facilities.

Why not use this opportunity to get back in touch with your old form group, team mates, band mates, society mates or fellow thespians? Maybe you could arrange a ‘House’ table if you were at school when the system was in place? Tables of 10, 12 or more can be arranged, or smaller groups. Just let us know what you’re planning and we’ll sort the seating plan for you.

The chefs have been busy pulling together a superb menu which for just £40 per head, which is as follows:

Starter: Creamed Garlic Sauteed Wild Mushrooms Served on a Sourdough Crostini garnished with Parmesan

MainCourse: Chicken Fillet loaded with Sun Blushed Tomato pesto, served on a bed of Crushed Herby Baby Potatoes, Roasted Green Beans and Tender stem Broccoli laced with a Red Wine jus

Dessert: Rhubarb and Ginger Slice. Rhubarb and Chocolate filling with a Ginger Crumb base sprinkled with a Chocolate Flake and Raspberry dust.

We’re still working on a vegan/vegetarian option and will confirm that with all as soon as possible. When you book your places, please make sure you confirm if you would prefer vegetarian/vegan options as well as any special dietary requirements.

It promises to be a fantastic evening with a great bar, live music, an update from the Head Master, the infamous raffle….and of course the chance to catch up with old (and new) school friends to share memories of our times at AGSB.

What to do now
Firstly, please put the date in your diary. Friday 26^th September 2025. We’ll be meeting for pre-dinner drinks at 7pm.

Next, please contact Stephen Perrett at sperrett@cheetham-mortimer.com to reserve your place/table – stating how many places you are interested in booking. Stephen will then get back to you with payment details.

If you are able to donate a prize to the raffle, (match tickets, hotel/restaurant/experience vouchers, memorabilia, beers, wine etc), then please contact Christian at christian.james@ifagency.co.uk.

Finally…for now….we have already started getting significant booking enquiries. So please can you share these details with your school contacts asap and let Stephen know how many in your group are up for joining us this year.

Association Report

The 2023 AGM will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 9th November 2023. The committee will be meeting in person at the school but EVERYONE is welcome and encouraged to join the meet via a Teams link. As well as running over a number of reports (which will be shared on the Old Alts web site beforehand), there’ll be a chance to catch up and discuss future events and opportunities to get together. The Next of which is the school production of “Bacchae” –  their own modern rewrite of this Ancient Greek tragedy. Don’t be put off by the genre, it’s a riveting story. If you don’t know it, it is a play about the Greek god Dionysus, (god of wine and revelry) and his journey for retribution. The storyline is full of irony, cruel gods and revenge!

On the tee……You if you hurry! Limited places now ready to book for the Old Alts Golf Day. Friday July 7th, 9am, Chorlton GC.

Whether you’re a single figure demon or just started playing, the Old Alts Annual golf day is a great day for all golfers of all abilities. The unique aspect of our event is that it is a mix of Old Alts as well as current staff and pupils.

Some have asked if you have to be a member of a club, or a decent golfer, or both to play in this event. The answer is that it’s very much open to all.

Come along on your own or bring some of your ex-AGSB pals and prepare yourself for a great day out both on and off the course.

Tee times are strictly limited, so please confirm your place as soon as possible.

Details for the day are as follows:

• Arrive at 09.00am
• Format is a singles stableford, played in 3’s or 4’s
• First tee time: tbc
• Cost – tbc but approx. £30 inc golf and Chorlton’s famous buffet.
• Venue: Chorlton Golf Club
